Friday Fancies...Crushed

This week's assignment was outfit crush. The outfit that came to mind was one I had seen Lauren Alaina wear during American Idol. I fell in love with it! I would wear this to just about any place because it's super stinkin cute and just my style! Have a great Friday!

Its OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

Once again it's Thursday and it's been a week full of "its ok" moments. I'm not really going to its ok those things though, mostly because I want to get past them. I'm sure we've all had those moments. I hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

Its totally OK....

* That its officially fall and I woke up to 74 degrees and muggy, foggy, mist outside ( no really, it's not ok ugghh)

* That my best friend Michelle got me hooked on One More Night by Maroon 5 and it's been stuck in my head. I've literally been singing it for 2 days now!

* That I changed my fall table setting like TEN TIMES because I wasn't satisfied with it...guess what...I'm still not

* That I have a retarted dog who eats the seat out of my wicker rocking chair (that used to be my husband's grandfather's) while she sits in it....really?!!

* To be irritated that stores are already stocking the shelves with Christmas items (Walmart already has Christmas trees up). Seriously? Can we at least get past Halloween or into October first?! Next year they will be putting them up during Easter...gah

* Not to understand people at all sometimes. I seriously have those that are just plain head scratchers...some are related to me

* That at 28 years old, after 12 years of marriage, and 3 kids later, that I still have no idea what I want to do career wise. Since being a horse trainer or interior decorator is out of the question...I'm just clueless.

Have a happy Thursday!!!

Its Fall Yall!

It's finally fall! It's my favorite season so I get a little excited and worked up about decorations and holidays. I'll get to all that in a minute though. What I want to talk about first is how I have such wonderful kids!

Sunday, September 23rd was mine and my husband's 12th anniversary. My hubby works on the weekends, not to mention there was something planned every night since Thursdaay night, so we went out to dinner on Wednesday night to celebrate. So Sunday morning, which is busy for us with getting ready for church, I wake up and hear my kids moving around in the kitchen. I know something is up when I don't hear any arguing and they are actually working together. My kids decided to put together something special for me and their daddy that morning.

A cupcake, a slice of pound cake complete with blueberries, pecans, and almonds, graham crackers with marshmallow cream, a bouquet of freshly picked flowers, and a hand-made card.

They used the resources they had in my kitchen to put this together for us and I thought it was the sweetest thing. They also had our coffee already made for us. So like I said....such amazing kids!

Now back to fall. On Saturday I decided to pull out my fall decor. I have a small space to work with and I still have some things left to do (planning a shopping trip at the beginning of October). However, I wanted to go ahead and share with you some things that put up.

Love this above my dining room table
My simple but pretty wreath on my front door

My prized possesion - Princess House glass pumpkin punch bowl- My mother bought this for me right after I got married.

One of the metal black luminaries that I have hanging on my porch.

I'm going to add a few of my favorite things from Pinterest, things I'll be adding to my decor soon!! Have an amazing start to your fall!

Mom Overload

Can I just take a  moment and say...wow? Can my list of things to do get any longer, my time any shorter, and my financial resources any more scarce?! Yes I know, lots of people get stressed. However, lately I feel as if I'm in the stressed-out pool right by myself. I know that this is entirely untrue, because there are many other mothers out there who work a full time job. You women know how it is to try and balance a full time job with kids and a house that CONSTANTLY needs cleaning...right?

I am a mother of three children, agest 11, 9, and 5. All three of them have their own afterschool activities that they participate in. My  husband works the night shift (he is a deputy at the local Sheriff's Department), so most of the to-do's fall to me. I'm not complaining...oh no...I'm just stating that sometimes I just freak out like this morning...well and last night but who's counting? My husband and I also pastor a church in the next county over. That is where I teach a sunday school class and lead worship service. I work full time at a job that is an hour away. I have 2 horses, 1 cat, 2 dogs, and 7 puppies by one of those dogs...almost forgot about Lola, my daughter's house trained rabbit. I have been riding in a mounted drill team on Saturdays (though lately my schedule hasn't allowed for me to practice much). Needless to say, my life is busy.

I love organization in my home, however, over the last...oh...for a while now I've been so busy that my house looks like a zoo. If you enjoy a clean house then you will understand how this can make a woman crazy. I'm thinking that there is no way I'm the only one having a mental break down right now because my to-do list is way out of hand. So...I went in search of help and ladies I have found the answer!

Brilliant right?! Haha NO, but sometimes we do feel as though this is the only way to get a moments break. I just wanted to take a moment to let those others that are stressed out today, that you aren't the only one. I know because sometimes I feel that way then I speak with someone else who is going through some of the same things I am. No we are not alone. Not only do we have each other but we have God to lean on. Deuteronomy 31:8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

what I needed today was a bit of comic relief to help me through this trying day and weekend. I hope that maybe by sharing my Stree Relief Kit that you will be able to smile today as well.

Its OK Thursday...

Its Ok Thursdays

So ever since I heard about the "Its OK Thursdays" I've wanted to join in on the Its OK fun! I love the idea of this and it just so happens that I have begun my blogging on a Thursday! How awesome is that? I also heard from my friend Michelle, the author of My Simple Life blog (check her out by clicking on the button at the bottom, she's great), that linking up is such a great way to meet new people through this and makes your blogging experience more enjoyable! So here goes...

It's Ok...

...no matter how I straighten my bangs they always, I repeat, ALWAYS fall in my face and look ridiculous.

...that my car absolutely refused to show my gas level as anything but empty though I had just filled it up.

...that I honestly just don't feel like going for my daily power walk on my lunch break.

...that I stress over small things like what to name a blog or title a paper more than I stress really big things.

...that my living room floor was covered with tracked in wet grass (thanks to kids, husbands, and Georgia boots) when I left for work this morning.

...that I am still waiting for direction in my job situation from God, though I feel as if I've done my fair share of waiting...

Its all OK.
Have a Great Thursday and just remember to breathe...because tomorrow is Friday and the wekeend is almost here!

I'm not afeared...

I've finally gone and done it! I've began to blog. Welcome to my very first blog post! I've thought about it for a while now, even talked about it with my very best friend (my sister). She has been my inspiration and the gentle shove I needed to get started. What was my hold up? Well...fear was my hold up. I've noticed that fear has kept me from doing lots of things in my life. It does sound silly to be afraid of a simple blog, I admit, but it was more the fear of failure than anything. I've adopted a John Wayne quote and began to apply it to my life. I found this quote on a refrigerator magnet at Hobby Lobby one day. It is currently residing on my fridge so that I can see it everyday.

"Courage is being scared to death...and saddling up anyway" -John Wayne

I've been so darn caught up on worrying about everything and being afraid to start something new or try something new that I've been holding back. Now it's not so easy to just stop worrying or being afraid of things, believe me (I'm still worried about how my new pick of hair color will turn out and am thinking of chickening out), but the main thing is to try to change. A small baby step every day, a small accomplishment, congrats you are on your way! So today I pat myself on the back for beginning blogging and deciding to shed my long locks for a shorter 'do (fingers crossed on the outcome).

Now, I know that you probably look at my blog name and scratch your head but it's pretty simple. My life is filled with crazy and random things from cupcakes to horseshoes and everything in between. From one extreme to the other and I've learned to smile and enjoy some of the craziness. I'll now share pieces of my life, faith, likes, and dislikes with you because I know I'm not the only one who is as random as cupcakes and horseshoes.
